Squishable Drinkware Review: Are the Mugs and Cups Worth Collecting?

Squishable has carved out a beloved niche in the plush world with its delightfully quirky and huggable creatures. But did you know the brand also offers a line of drinkware? From whimsical mugs to fun cups, Squishable drinkware brings the same playful aesthetic to your morning coffee or afternoon tea. In this review, we’ll dive into the design, quality, and collectibility of Squishable mugs and cups, helping you decide if they deserve a spot in your kitchen cabinet.

While Squishable’s plush toys remain the heart of the brand, their drinkware collection offers a practical way to enjoy a bit of Squishable charm every day. Whether you’re a longtime collector or a newcomer, understanding what makes these mugs special—and how they compare to other Squishable categories—can guide your next purchase. Let’s explore the details.

Design and Aesthetic Appeal

Squishable drinkware stands out for its vibrant, often whimsical designs that mirror the brand’s plush personality. Mugs and cups feature beloved characters like the Squishable Rainbow, with its cheerful color gradient, or the Squishable Taco Cat, which combines two fan favorites into one adorable motif. The artwork is printed or embossed with care, ensuring the designs pop without feeling cheap.

The aesthetic is clearly aimed at fans who appreciate cute, kawaii-inspired art. Colors are bold and saturated, and the characters retain the same soft, rounded expressions found on plush toys. For collectors, these drinkware pieces serve as functional art—display-worthy yet usable. The handles are ergonomically shaped, and the overall proportions feel balanced, making them pleasant to hold during a cozy drink break.

• Designs feature popular Squishable characters like the Squishable Rainbow and Squishable Taco Cat
• Vibrant, kawaii-inspired artwork that matches plush aesthetic
• Functional and display-worthy; ergonomic handles for comfortable use

Quality and Durability

When it comes to durability, Squishable drinkware holds up well to daily use. Mugs are typically made from high-quality ceramic that feels substantial without being overly heavy. The glaze is smooth and even, resisting scratches and fading after repeated washing. The print is baked into the surface, so it doesn’t peel or chip easily—a common concern with novelty mugs.

Cups designed for cold beverages are similarly robust, often made from sturdy glass or BPA-free plastic. They seal tightly when lidded, preventing spills during travel. While not indestructible, Squishable drinkware is built to last through many morning routines. For reference, the brand’s attention to detail in plush toys carries over to these items, resulting in a product that feels premium rather than gimmicky.

• Ceramic mugs: high-quality, smooth glaze, fade-resistant print
• Cold cups: sturdy glass or BPA-free plastic with spill-resistant lids
• Overall durability suitable for daily use; not prone to chipping or peeling

Collectibility and Value Comparison

For collectors, Squishable drinkware offers a unique way to expand a themed collection without taking up shelf space like plush toys. A Squishable mug featuring the Mini Squishable Strawberry Penguin or the Mini Squishable Pumpkin Ghost allows fans to enjoy seasonal or character-specific art in a functional form. The limited-edition nature of some designs adds to their appeal, making them sought-after items among enthusiasts.

Compared to plush toys, drinkware is generally more affordable and easier to store. While a standard plush might cost $20–$40, a mug often falls in the $12–$18 range, making it an accessible entry point for new fans. However, the collectibility is less about rarity and more about personal enjoyment—these mugs are meant to be used, not just displayed. For those who already own plush like the Squishable Corgi Bubble Tea, adding a matching mug creates a cohesive, cozy kitchen aesthetic.

• Affordable alternative to plush toys ($12–$18 range)
• Limited-edition designs increase collectibility
• Pairs well with plush collections for a coordinated look

How Does Drinkware Compare to Other Squishable Categories?

Squishable’s product lineup spans plush, apparel, accessories, and kitchen items. Drinkware sits comfortably within the kitchen category, but it also overlaps with accessories in terms of collectibility. Unlike plush toys, which are purely for hugging and display, drinkware serves a practical purpose—you can enjoy your favorite beverage while appreciating the design.

When compared to apparel or pins like the S'more Enamel Pin, drinkware offers a larger canvas for artwork. The designs are more prominent and detailed, making them a stronger visual statement. However, they lack the portability of pins or the wearability of apparel. For fans who enjoy a complete Squishable lifestyle, drinkware is a natural addition to a collection that already includes plush and accessories.

• Practical functionality vs. plush’s huggability
• Larger design canvas than pins or apparel
• Ideal for fans wanting a cohesive Squishable-themed kitchen
